SEMINOLE – Model trains, Thomas the Tank Engine and more will be on exhibit at the Seminole Community Library at St. Petersburg College, 9200 113th St. N., Thursday, Aug. 15 through Sunday, Aug. 18. Exhibit hours will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Aug. 15; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Aug. 16; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Aug. 17; and 1 to 5 p.m., Aug. 18.
Four exhibits will be featured. “Fun and Disasters” is a 16-foot by 38-foot model railroad layout in “S” gauge, expressing the trials, tribulations and triumphs of modern industrial life; “The Battle of Gettysburg” is a 4-foot by 8-foot layout in “HO” scale with more than 2,000 hand-painted soldiers, wagons, cannons and horses; “Thomas the Tank Engine” and his friends will be on display, sculpted in various media; and the “Keen Mountain” display will feature an 8-foot tall mountain with “HO” scale train yards.
The exhibit modelers and artists of the S-Modulators model railroad club will be on hand to offer commentary and answer questions about their creations.
