SEMINOLE – Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Seminole man Thursday, Aug. 21, in connection with a hit and run crash that happened Wednesday night.
About 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, a silver sedan was observed driving southbound on Seminole Boulevard. Randy K. Deane, 55, of Largo was driving a Harley Davidson northbound on Seminole Boulevard. The driver of the silver sedan made a left hand turn on to Baypines Boulevard in front of the Harley Davidson. The motorcycle struck the rear passenger side of the silver sedan. The sedan then continued driving down Baypines Boulevard.
Deane was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Deputies identified Daniel McCaslin, 44, as the driver of the sedan. They made contact with him about 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Treasure Island. McCaslin was arrested and taken to the Pinellas County Jail.
He was charged with one count of leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury and one count of leaving the scene of a crash with property damage. Bond was set at $5,250.
