Surveillance photos catch a suspect removing money from the cash register Aug. 9 at Doe Doe’s Diner in unincorporated St. Petersburg.
ST. PETERSBURG - Pinellas County Sheriff’s detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a burglary suspect who recently stole from a diner in unincorporated St. Petersburg.
According to detectives, the suspect was observed pulling into the parking lot of Doe Doe’s Diner, 9395 Bay Pines Blvd. in St. Petersburg, Saturday, Aug. 9, about 3:32 a.m.
The suspect exited the vehicle, took a bicycle from the bike rack and placed it in the bed of the truck, the sheriff’s report said. He then forcibly broke into the rear of the diner, took an undisclosed amount of money from the register and left.
The suspect is described as a white male, thin build, approximately 5 foot 5 inches to 5 foot 8 inches tall with a beard. He was last observed wearing a camouflage hat, dark shorts and a light colored shirt.
The suspect’s vehicle is described as a white Ford Ranger, possibly 2006 to 2009, with a silver tool box.
Detectives believe this suspect could be linked to an additional burglary at a nearby business, River Sweet Citrus, 209 150th Avenue in Madeira Beach.
