SEMINOLE – A Largo man was arrested Sept. 22 in connection with a July 8 fatal hit and run crash near Park Boulevard and 110th Lane in Seminole.
Todd Kershaw was charged with leaving the scene of a traffic crash resulting in the death of Edin Deleon, 24, of Seminole. Kershaw was booked into the Pinellas County Jail. Bond was set at $100,000.
Members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team and Strategic Enforcement Section were able to develop probable cause for the arrest of Kershaw through various citizen tips and investigative leads, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.
The hit and run crash occurred at approximately 1 a.m. Sunday, July 8, on Park Boulevard, just east of 110th Lane in Seminole. The victim was not crossing at an intersection, nor utilizing a crosswalk.
Deputies said as Deleon crossed the road, a dark colored sedan struck him and fled the scene traveling westbound. While still in the roadway, the victim was then struck by a silver Honda Civic. The driver of the Civic stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities. The victim was treated at the scene then brought to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
