Transportation projects to be discussed
SEMINOLE – Assistant County Administrator Pete Yauch will discuss transportation improvements planned in the area at the next meeting of the USEM Community Association Oct. 25, 7 p.m., at the Seminole Community Library.

Yauch will discuss plans for 102nd Avenue, Starkey Road, Bryan Dairy Road, the 118th Avenue Expressway and other projects. The public is invited. Call 392-3082 or go to www.usemca.com.

Swamp Tromp slated at park
SEMINOLE – Boca Ciega Millennium Park plans a free Swamp Tromp Saturday, Oct. 20, 9 a.m. along the mangroves of Boca Ciega Bay. Those taking part should bring shoes that can get muddy, shorts that can get wet, along with sunscreen and mosquito repellent. Space is limited. Call 588-4882 to reserve a spot. Millennium Park is at 12410 74th Ave. N.

Elks, Mantrap plan fundraiser
SEMINOLE – The Seminole Elks Club plans a fundraiser Sunday, Oct. 21, at Mantrap, 13177 Park Blvd., that will benefit Florida Elks Handicapped Children Therapy Services and the Florida Elks Youth Camp. Upper body massages, shampoo and cut, manicure and pedicure will be available from noon to 5 p.m. for $10 each. Appointments are required. Call 393-8751.
