SEMINOLE – A fundraiser that will benefit the martial arts mentoring program at Pinellas Village is set for Sunday, Nov. 2, at Jim Graden’s Cardio Karate Center, 9112 Seminole Blvd.
The event, called “Take a Punch at a Politician” will feature photos of various political candidates on heavy punching bags.
The fun begins at 10 a.m. and the cost is $10. There also will be a 50/50 raffle with 50 percent going to the mentoring program and the other half to the winner.
There is no better way to deal with stress than to get in a good workout while hitting something, said Graden.
His goal is to have fun and give the community a chance to take a punch at a politician while doing something positive for themselves and others.
Graden has been involved with helping at-risk children for more than 15 years. He just recently teamed up with the Pinellas Village to create a martial arts mentoring program and needs funds to pay for instructors and equipment.
Graden is also a board member of the Juvenile Justice Foundation.
