SEMINOLE – The Belle of the Ball Project will distribute homecoming dresses to in-need, low-income high school girls on Saturday, Nov. 3, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Seminole Mall, 11201 Park Blvd.
The Belle of the Ball store is next to the Ross Department Store.
Almost 4,000 quality dresses will be on display for the girl’s choosing, along with shoes and purses.
Founded in 2003, Belle of the Ball Project Inc. is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide homecoming and prom dresses to high school girls who are unable to afford a dress for these special events.
The project has given away more than 3,000 dresses in its nine-year history.
It collects new and gently worn, current style homecoming, prom, bridesmaids and cocktail dresses as well as shoes, purses, and accessories.
Distributions are open to all Pinellas and Hillsborough county area high school teens. No appointment needed.
The dresses are for low-income, in-need, high school girls only. There is no charge for the dresses.
A nominal $1 to $5 donation is requested but not required. Organizers respect the honor system and no referral letter is necessary.
Donations of dresses also can be made.
