Meeting for recycling, sustainability SEMINOLE – A meeting to discuss local recycling and sustainability efforts is planned Monday, Nov. 9, 10 a.m. to noon, at the Seminole Community Library, Program Room C. The meeting is being organized by Seminole resident Mary DeGeorge.
Rotary Club auction SEMINOLE – The Rotary Club of Seminole will host its annual Rotary Goes Hollywood auction event on Saturday, Nov. 14, 6 p.m., at the Belleair Country Club, One Country Club Lane, Belleair. The event will feature cocktails and dinner, music and dancing, silent and live auction, and door prizes and surprises. Tickets for the black-tie-optional event will be $100 a person. Proceeds will go to the organization’s charitable foundation. In the last three years, the auction events have helped provide more than $92,000 to local community projects, scholarships, eradication of polio worldwide, international humanitarian needs and disaster support. The local organizations supported by the auction proceeds include the Interfaith Food Pantry, Pinellas Village, Orange Grove Elementary, Seminole High School and the Rotary Camp of Florida. Bright Before Your Eyes illuminated night parade SEMINOLE – The city’s fifth annual Bright Before Your Eyes illuminated night parade is Sunday, Nov. 22, 6:30 p.m. The entry fee is $25 per unit. Kiwanis program SEMINOLE – A speaker from the Veterans Liaison Council of Pinellas Council Honor Guard will be featured Tuesday, Nov. 10, 7:15 a.m., when the Kiwanis Club of Seminole Breakfast meets at the Seminole Family Restaurant, 6864 Seminole Blvd. The mission of the Veterans Liaison Council of Pinellas County Honor Guard is to provide memorial services to any veteran of need. Meetings are on Tuesdays at 7:15 a.m. and feature informative guest speakers from local business, government and nonprofit organizations on a wide-range of topics. Post 252 donations for Thanksgiving dinner SEMINOLE – American Legion Post 252, 11433 Park Blvd., is seeking donations for its annual Thanksgiving dinner for veterans. Cash or check donations can be dropped off at the post. Each year the post hosts a Thanksgiving dinner for about 250 veterans under care at Bay Pines VA Medical Center.
