SEMINOLE – Pinellas County Sheriff’s detectives have arrested two men in connection with a shooting incident that took place Nov. 9 at a Seminole nightclub.

Toby Denio, 29, of 53rd Ave. N., St. Petersburg, and Anthony Edinger, 26, of 58th Ave. N., No. 18, St. Petersburg, were each charged with three counts of attempted murder, armed kidnapping and armed home invasion following an incident that culminated about 2:30 a.m. at Boomerz Cafe, 6990 Seminole Blvd.

Shots were fired at three victims but only one of them was hit by gunfire.

According to detectives the incident began as a disagreement earlier in the evening between the shooting victim and Edinger. Detectives say that after that incident Edinger and Denio left Boomerz and drove to a nearby home in Seminole where they forced another man to return to the business with them at gunpoint.

When they returned to Boomerz, the suspects forced the man to enter the business and lure the shooting victim outside at which time multiple shots were fired by Edinger from a handgun, detectives said.

After the shooting both suspects fled from the scene in a vehicle. The shooting victim was transported to a local hospital by ambulance where he was admitted for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

During the investigation detectives developed information that led to the identification of both suspects. Detectives took Denio into custody at his home at about 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14. Edinger was taken into custody at about 9 p.m. on the same date as he drove away from his home in a vehicle loaded with his belongings.

In addition to the other charges, Edinger was also arrested on an outstanding warrant from Colorado on unrelated charges of robbery, aggravated assault with a firearm, and escape.
