TARPON SPRINGS – Newly elected Tarpon Springs Commissioner Rea Sieber was sworn in at the Board of Commissioners meeting on April 1 to the cheers of friends and family. Commissioner Townsend Tarapani also was sworn in for his second term after running unopposed in his race.
Commissioners and city staff bid farewell to Vice Mayor Susan Slattery, who left her post after six years as City Commissioner.
“Tarpon is a truly unique city with such charm and heritage,” Slattery said. “I’m proud to have had some part in moving this city forward.”
Commissioner Jeff Larsen was elected to replace Slattery as Vice Mayor in a unanimous vote. Tarapani volunteered to serve on the School Transportation Safety Committee, Commissioner David Banther volunteered for the Pinellas County Homeless Leadership Board and Larsen joined the General Employees Pension Board.
