Results official Maloof and Bildz reelected in Treasure Island

PINELLAS COUNTY - The Canvassing Committee met Saturday morning and certified results from the March 14 Treasure Island Municipal Election.
Winners declared from unofficial results posted March 14 did not change; however, the record shows a slight change in totals. Click here to view official results.
According to the official results, which include provisional ballots, in the race for Mayor, Mary Maloof received 1,012 votes, 69.03 percent, to challenger John "J.D." Hadsall with 454, 30.97 percent.
In the race for Commissioner, District 4, Alan Bildz received 255 votes, 81.73 percent, to Don Callahan with 57, 18.27 percent.
The record shows that 26.21 percent of 5,629 registered voters cast ballots for mayor-commission in the March 2006 election. In the commissioner's race, the turnout was 24.75 percent of 1,301 registered voters.
According to statistics provided by the Supervisor of Elections Office, 38.3 percent of registered voters in cast ballots in the March 2005 election. In March 2004, 46.2 percent of voters in Districts 2 and 4 cast ballots. In March 2003, 41.3 percent of all voters cast ballots. In March 2002, 27.1 percent of voters in Districts 2 and 4 made the trip to the polls. In March 2000, 33.5 percent of registered voters cast ballots.
