ST. PETE BEACH – Registration is underway for the second annual Harley’s for Hearts Christmas Toy Run on Sunday, Dec. 2.

Sponsored by Bert’s Barracuda, the ride, which begins and ends at TradeWinds Island Grand, will go up and down Gulf Boulevard to St. Pete Beach and through Indian Rocks, Madeira Beach and back.

Upon return, lunch and live music will be available. Participants are asked to bring a toy to be donated to the Lealman Fire District who will distribute the toys to children in the community. Suggested items are family games, puzzles, crafts and educational toys. Used toys and stuffed animals cannot be accepted.

Cost is $20 per rider and $10 for each passenger. Registration begins at 7 a.m., with “kickstands up” at 9:30 a.m. Lunch and live music will begin at noon. Hamburgers, hot dogs and beer will be available for $2.

Preregistration takes place every weekend at Bert’s Barracuda Harley-Davidson. Anyone registering by Nov. 25 will receive a gift.

Proceeds will benefit Athletes for Hearts, an organization that provides financial assistance to families with children in need of medical treatment specific to a heart condition and to fund advancements in medical technology for the treatment of heart disease, with a special emphasis on heart conditions affecting children.
