Beautification noticed in Indian Rocks Beach

Julie Hoofnagle, center, president of the Indian Rocks Beach civic group Action 2000 Inc., and Action 2000 itself were named dual recipients of the 2018 Keep Pinellas Beautiful Environmental Nonprofit Partner Award on June 7 by Keep Pinellas Beautiful. Presenting the check were Patricia DePlasco, KBP executive director, left, and Tracy Meehan, KBP board president. The award recognizes the planning, coordination and execution of beautification work performed Feb. 24 to a park in the 1700 block of Gulf Boulevard in Indian Rocks Beach. Some 85 volunteers from Action 2000 and partners from the city of Indian Rocks Beach, Crabby Bill’s Seafood, Keep Pinellas Beautiful and IRB Chairs freshened up the park by adding new mulch, crushed shells, decorative rocks and native Florida plants.
