DUNEDIN – Pam Pravetz has accepted the job as president of the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce. Pravetz was a business major at Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh and has a history of running nonprofits. She and her husband owned a local business for many years and is well known in the community, a Chamber of Commerce news release said.
Pravetz had been a board member at the chamber for six years and was chairman of the board when Lynn Wargo became ill. Pravetz resigned the position of chairman and took on the temporary job of president.
“When Dunedin lost a great friend, the chamber faced the necessity of keeping daily operations going while maintaining member services,” the release said.
Pravetz continued to work hard to ensure that the chamber would be able to take care of its members through these rough times. The chamber formed a search committee and began the process of finding a president.
“After months had passed, the committee came to the conclusion that the best leader for the Chamber of Commerce would be the person who stepped in at our time of need,” the release said.
