Bringing their “Summer Rapture Tour” to the Tampa Bay area, Betraying the Martyrs burst on to the scene with “Breathe in Life,” their 2011 debut. Following the debut, they made a huge impact throughout North America and Europe, touring relentlessly as part of the RockStar Mayhem Fest lineup as well as playing club dates.
“Phantom,” the band’s 2014 sophomore album, and its ensuing tour seasoned Betraying the Martyrs into a venerable freight train of aggression with blazing harmonies, captivating hooks and bombastic off-time precision. The album also opened the doors to an entirely new audience with the unlikely cover of “Let it Go” from the Disney film “Frozen.”
“The Resilient,” the Paris-based band’s most recent album, was released via Sumerian Records in 2017 and showcased a unique songwriting dynamic unrivaled within their genre. Followed by worldwide touring in support of the record, Betraying the Martyrs cemented their position as the European kings of 21st century metal.
“We are beyond excited to cover U.S. soil on our first full U.S. headlining tour,” said vocalist Aaron Matts in a press release promoting the tour. “To be able to play a full energetic set to an audience that has been with us since day one is an absolute honor for us. Along with a stacked lineup of sick bands, we’re all stoked to get on the road. Come to a show and lose yourselves with us. See you all in the pit.”
Joining the band at Crowbar will be Entheos, Sentinels and Within Destruction.
In addition to touring, Betraying the Martyrs recently announced a new partnership with Chris Adler‘s management company, Kintsugi Management. The band is working on a new album and is expected to play new songs from the upcoming album for the very first time on this tour.
“I’m honestly excited to be working with a group of friends with a united vision,” Adler said. “Betraying the Martyrs is doing something very special. It’s labeled metalcore because it’s easy to put every band in a box, but in this case, that is a mistake. They have taken time to study and have salvaged and fine-tuned all that I love in metal music. It’s an exciting time for the band. We believe in the guys and there’s an incredible new album soon to drop. The band continues to grow a dedicated, international fan base via their hard work, vision and brutally contagious music.”
Matts said that the band is excited about its collaboration with Adler and Kintsugi Management. Matts’ Betraying the Martyrs bandmates include Victor Guillet, keyboards and vocals; Baptiste Vigier, rhythm guitar; Valentin Hauser, bass; Boris Le Gal, drums; and Steeves Hostin, lead guitar.
“To be on board the same ship as Chris and his incredible team has breathed new life into what we do,” Matts said. “Their backing support goes beyond anything we have known previously. It’s truly an honor. With our next release in the barrel and ready to be fired into the world, we could not be any more prepared for the road ahead.”
