PINELLAS PARK – Local companies are collaborating to ensure seniors have a healthier lifestyle with an upcoming health fair.

The health fair will take place Saturday, March 31, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Mainlands of Tamarac, Unit 5 Clubhouse, 4275 Mainlands Blvd., Pinellas Park.

Meridien Research and A&B Insurance /Florida Blue have agreed to co-sponsor the health fair.

Smart Healthy Living is organizing the event and expects more than 30 vendors to be on hand to answer questions participants have. Health and wellness vendors will provide information on home and natural health products, food and nutrition, hearing care, amplified phone equipment, fitness, massage, yoga, essential oils, weight loss, home health care, chiropractic care, health coaching, medical clinic needs, insurance, long-term care needs, and counseling services in the area.

Participants will be able to have health screenings, see demonstrations of products, take part in Zumba fitness dance, go to seminars, get information on mental health in older people, receive door prizes and have fun.

“Living long and unhealthy is no quality of life, but when older people live healthier, they enjoy themselves and live longer,” said Sara Im, president of Smart Healthy Living, in a press release.

Participants will not have to pay an entrance fee. Smart Healthy Living is accepting vendors for the event as long as they provide health and wellness services and adhere to the Mainlands Clubhouse rules.
