Kids Camp ‘block party’
LARGO — Crossroads Christian Church will host a free Kids Camp Block Party on Wednesday, June 19, through Friday, June 21, at the church, 1645 Seminole Blvd., from 6-8:30 p.m. each evening.
The event is fun-filled and LEGO-themed. Kids will make crafts, have a snack, play on inflatables, hear about Jesus, sing, dance and play games.
The Block Party is planned for children ages 4 years through fifth grade.

Largo Central Park

LARGO — The Tampa Ballet Theatre will present “Peter Pan!” on Saturday, June 8, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, June 9, at 3 p.m., at the Central Park Performing Arts Center.
The show is a new contemporary ballet for all ages.

LARGO — Comedian Emo Philips will perform Saturday, June 15, 8 p.m., at the Central Park Performing Arts Center.
Described by Jay Leno as "the best joke writer in America," Philips continues to entertain the world with his unique comedic style, which has led to award-winning comedy albums, cable TV specials and his many film appearances.

LARGO — The Largo Library will host an evening of thoughtful art discussion Wednesday, June 19, at 6 p.m.

Hurricane Preparedness Expo
LARGO — Largo Fire Rescue’s fifth annual Hurricane Preparedness Expo will be held Saturday, June 29, from 9 to 11:30 a.m., at the Largo Public Library.
The free event will include educational presentations from an expert panel, and connect residents with businesses and emergency preparedness agencies in the area. The keynote speaker will be Channel 10 Chief Meteorologist Bobby Deskins.
Free breakfast refreshments will be provided as well as raffle giveaways and the chance to win a weather radio.

Largo Live Central Park Music Series
LARGO — Chris McCarty will take the stage as part of the Largo Live Central Park Music Series on Friday, June 21, 7 to 10 p.m., in Largo Central Park.

LARGO — Celebrate Father’s Day with a trip to the Highland Family Aquatic Center on Sunday, June 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Dads will be admitted free with one paid child admission. Splash's Snack Bar will be open and $1 hot dogs will be available.
Southwest Recreation Complex
Flick N Float
LARGO — Bring your favorite float or chair to Southwest Pool on June 21 and July 12 for a Friday night family movie at 6:30 p.m.
Vendors will be on site with snacks for sale. Movies will begin at 7 p.m.
The cost is $5 per person.

LARGO — The Largo Palooza Music Series will continue with a performance by Idaho Swezey on Friday, June 7, at 6:30 p.m., at the Community Center.

Birds of prey show
LARGO — The Look Alive Bird Show will be each Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Narrows Environmental Education Center.
Attendees will get a glimpse at the world of Florida’s flighted hunters. The show details the adaptations that raptors use to exploit the natural world for their gain. The show includes owls, hawks, falcons and Sarge, the center’s own bald eagle and the star of the show.
The show is free.
