A sun-soaked fifth edition of the Honeymoon Island Bluegrass Festival drew more than 500 lovers of the high-lonesome sound to the isle’s North Beach on a Dec. 3 afternoon boasting temperatures in the upper 70s.
The Kody Norris Show wowed, both with wildly colorful outfits and rousing performances of traditional favorites. Other performers included the Amanda Cook Band, whose sets weaved in some “newgrass” material, and Justin Mason & Blue Night, fronted by a 12-year-old warbler with Dolly Parton-decibel vocal power.
