The following events will take place in Pinellas Park in November:

Pinellas Park welcomes Greater Pinellas Country Fair

PINELLAS PARK – The Greater Pinellas Country Fair will run through Nov. 5 at England Brothers Park, 5010 81st Ave. N., Pinellas Park.

Hours are Friday, 6 to 10 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 10 p.m.

Admission is $5. Rides are not included in admission price. Kids 5 and younger will be admitted for free with a paying adult.

Friday, Nov. 3 will be Youth Day. Josh Cruz will perform at the band shell. Other activities will include carnival rides, games, and food.

Saturday, Nov. 4 will be 4-H day. There will be a talent show at the Pinellas Performing Arts Center. Dan Meyer, sword swallower, seen on America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent, will perform. Other Saturday events will include the following:

• Royal Lipizzan Stallion Show

• Pig Races

• World Record chicken mask/chicken dance

• Pinellas Park Police K-9 Demo

Sunday, Nov. 5 will be Senior Day with admission free for those 65 and older. Scheduled activities include the following:

• OneBlood bus

The closing ceremony will take place on Sunday, Nov. 5. At the fair, there will be several food vendors, animal attractions, games and carnival rides for all ages.

Pinellas Park Orchestra to perform

PINELLAS PARK – The Pinellas Park Orchestra will perform Sunday, Nov. 5, 7:30 p.m., at the Pinellas Park Performing Arts Center, 4951 78th Ave. N., Pinellas Park.

The concert will feature music by Wagner, Chadwick, Richard Rogers, George Gerswhin and other light classical and American music. The concert will include soprano Donna Delonary and baritone Jeff Clark. Harpist Vickie Garcia also will perform. There will be a trumpet solo by Maestro Art Hansuld.

Senior Center shows Monday afternoon movies

PINELLAS PARK – The Pinellas Park Senior Center, 7625 59th St. N., will show movies every Monday at 2 p.m.

Cost is $1 for members and $2 for non-members.

Pancake breakfast planned

PINELLAS PARK – The Pinellas Park Senior Center, 7625 59th St. N., will host its monthly pancake breakfast Wednesday, Nov. 8, 8 to 10:30 a.m.

Cost is $3 and includes all the pancakes you can eat. Sausage, juice and coffee are served with the first order of pancakes.

Family Camp Out set

PINELLAS PARK – Forbes Recreation Center, 6401 94th Ave. N., will hold its annual Family Camp Out Friday, Nov. 17, 5 p.m.

Families will camp out on the senior baseball field and enjoy games, crafts, dinner and a movie. Breakfast will also be provided the next morning.

Cost is $15 per family. Families must provide their own tent.

PINELLAS PARK – The Pinellas Arts Village, the city’s vibrant new arts district located between the 5600 and 5800 blocks of Park Boulevard, will hold its monthly Fourth Saturday Art Walk Nov. 25, 4 to 8 p.m.

Ethan Bortnick to perform

Matinee Opera Players seeking singers

PINELLAS PARK – Matinee Opera Players is currently seeking singers.

The organization is looking for those who love to sing – and particularly those who like to sing opera and show tunes.

The Matinee Opera Players, Pinellas Park’s resident opera company, is looking for a few singers who love to sing. The players perform about five or six shows per year, primarily at the Pinellas Park Performing Arts Center.

Mario Laurenti, the organization’s artistic director, has decades of singing and coaching experience, along with directing and producing full operas. Performances have more of a variety show format with classical music, cabaret style songs, show tunes, even a little American country music as well as arias from mostly well-known operas.

Matinee Opera Players is a volunteer, not-for-profit organization.

Senior Center offers crafts for veterans

PINELLAS PARK – The Pinellas Park Senior Center, 7625 59th St. N., will offer a weekly craft workshop for veterans on Fridays, 1 to 4 p.m.

Projects, which are donated by the Help Hospitalized Veterans Program, include model cars, wood projects, leatherwork, needlecrafts, poster art, beadwork and more.

The crafts aid in rehabilitation and are designed to restore coordination and impaired motor skills, improve attention spans and concentration, and relieve symptoms of depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and other conditions.
