CLEARWATER — Allegiant announced on June 18 that two additional nonstop flights would be coming to St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) starting in October.
Flights from Traverse City, Michigan, via Cherry Capital Airport (TVC) will begin Oct. 16, and flights from State College, Pennsylvania, via University Park Airport (SCE) will start Oct. 18.
The new nonstop routes will operate twice weekly and will bring nearly 36,000 passengers to the Tampa Bay area annually, contributing to visitor spending in the local economy. Flight days, times and the lowest fares can be found at Allegiant.com.
“We are excited to launch new service to Traverse City, Michigan and State College, Pennsylvania in the fall,” said Airport Director Tom Jewsbury. “We hope travelers will enjoy venturing from the beauty and active lifestyle of Lake Michigan to the beaches and arts of St. Pete-Clearwater! Connecting to Penn State’s main campus with the addition of State College, Pennsylvania is an excellent opportunity for students and alumni traveling to and from Tampa Bay. Allegiant continues to add great nonstop service to our destination.”
