ST. PETERSBURG - Pinellas County Consumer Protection, the Sheriff’s Office and the Division of Inspector General are hosting a free Fraud Awareness event from 9-11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Five Towns of Terrace Park Condominiums, 8141 54 Ave. N., St. Petersburg.
The event will include shredding services by Stevens & Stevens Business Records Management and Operation Medicine Cabinet Drop-off by the Sheriff’s Office. Residents will also be to attend educational presentations on current scams, identity theft and fraud prevention.
Fraud Awareness Week is observed Nov. 11-17.
“While prevention and detection is a year-round effort, Fraud Awareness Week shines a spotlight on fraud and spreads additional awareness, which is key in combating the fraud threat,” said Doug Templeton, operations manager at Pinellas County Consumer Protection.
