CLEARWATER – A 66-year-old Clearwater man died at a local hospital from injuries suffered when his motorcycle struck a car on Old Coachman Road about 9:36 a.m. Feb. 23.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Patricia Neal, 85, of Clearwater was driving a 2014 KIA southbound on Old Coachman Road when she made a U-turn and entered the path of a 1995 Harley Davidson motorcycle being driven by Stanley Heath.

Heath and Thomas Perrault, 60, of Clearwater, who was driving 2019 Harley Davidson, had been traveling northbound on Old Coachman Road.

Troopers say Heath’s motorcycle collided with the KIA and he was ejected from his motorcycle. Perrault’s motorcycle overturned when the driver attempted to avoid a collision and slid into the right rear of the KIA.

Heath was transported to Mease Countryside Hospital where he later died. Perrault suffered minor injuries. Neal and her passenger, Lawrence Neal, 52, of Clearwater were uninjured.
