OLDSMAR — Pinellas County Sheriff’s detectives say the deaths of a male and female at a condominium in Oldsmar are an apparent murder-suicide.

Deputies responded to a condominium in the Eastlake Woodlands Country Club at approximately 10:14 p.m. on June 4, after the family of the female victim called 911 because they had not been able to get in touch with her. They requested that law enforcement to attempt contact.

Deputies say the family told them they were concerned for the female due to there being a history of domestic violence between the victim and her paramour.

When deputies arrived at the residence, no one answered the door and deputies made a forced entry into the condominium to check on the female.

According to detectives, Benjamin First, 51, and a 52-year-old female victim were found deceased inside the home from gunshot wounds. Detectives have determined it to be a murder-suicide.

This continues to be an open and on-going investigation. No further information is available at this time.

The 52-year-old female victim will not be identified, due to next of kin invoking her Amendment 6 rights.
