Largo man charged with second-degree murder after shooting victim dies

LARGO — Largo police arrested a 39-year-old Largo man about 10:12 p.m. May 7 on three charges of attempted murder in the first degree. Police added another charge May 13, murder in the second degree, after Marguerite Williams, 59, died from her injuries.

Kenneth James Prince is being held in the Pinellas County Jail on one charge of murder in the second degree, three charges of attempted murder in the first degree and carrying a concealed weapon.

Largo police responded to a call about shots fired about 9 p.m. May 7 at Whispering Palms Apartments, 601 16th Ave. SE. Officers say two females had been shot and a male had been shot at but not injured.

Williams was one of the two females. They were both transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. The second female has not been identified.
