SEMINOLE — At its first meeting March 13, the city of Seminole’s Charter Review Committee voted to select John Counts as committee chair and Berny Jacques as vice chair.
The Charter Review Committee is appointed by the Seminole City Council every five years to review the city’s charter.
Counts is a former city councilor who served the city in that capacity for more than a decade. He announced in 2014 that he would not seek re-election. At the time, he said his daughter played competitive softball, which took up a lot of his free time.
Jacques was a Republican candidate for the Florida House of Representatives in the 2018 election. He lost to Nick DiCeglie in the primary for the District 66 seat.
Both Counts and Jacques were self-nominated.
